About The Lodge
The Lodge is a residential care home in Langport, Somerset, supporting adults with a learning disability or autism and people living with a mental health condition. We work mainly with younger adults, and we also offer respite stays for those who need support for a shorter period. The people who live here are adults with their own preferences, opinions and plans, and our job is to support those rather than to manage them. Residents decide how their days go, what they eat, how their rooms look and what they want to work towards. Some are building skills around cooking, budgeting, travel or employment. Others want support to keep doing the things they already enjoy and to stay close to family and friends. Support is planned with each person, using whatever way of communicating suits them best. We talk about what helps, what makes things harder, what the early signs look like when someone is struggling and what they would like us to do. That plan belongs to the resident and is revisited as things change. We work alongside community learning disability teams, mental health services and local GPs so that support is consistent, and families and advocates are genuinely welcome here. The Care Quality Commission most recently rated us good overall. Please get in touch if you would like to know more or arrange a visit.
