About The Lodge
The Lodge is a residential care home in Highbridge. We support older people needing help with daily living, including those living with dementia, adults who have a learning disability, autistic adults, people living with mental health conditions, people with a physical disability and people whose sight or hearing is impaired. We also support some younger adults. That is a wide range, and what holds it together is planning around the individual rather than a house routine everybody has to fit. We find out how somebody wants their day to run, what tends to help when things are difficult and who we should contact, and we treat that knowledge as the substance of the care. For residents living with dementia we keep routines steady and faces familiar. Where sight or hearing is impaired we keep belongings where they are expected and check we have been understood. For the autistic people we support, notice of change and attention to noise and busyness matter most. Respite stays are available alongside permanent places. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Families across Somerset are welcome to visit.
