About High Lea House
High Lea House is a residential care home in Oswestry providing care for older people who can no longer manage at home on their own. We are a home rather than an institution, and the difference shows in the details. People choose when to get up and go to bed, where to spend their day and how much company they want. Our staff help with washing and dressing, with moving about safely, with medication and with meals and drinks, and they do it at the pace of the person rather than the pace of the rota. A good deal of what we provide is company. Many people come to us after a long stretch of living alone, and having somebody to talk to at breakfast changes a week more than any formal activity does. There is plenty going on for those who want it and no obligation for those who do not. Meals are cooked here and there is a real choice. We keep a close eye on health, know people well enough to notice when something is not right, and involve the GP early rather than waiting. Respite and short stays can be arranged for people needing care for a limited period. If you would like to look round, please telephone us and we will arrange a time that suits you.
