About Chance Drive

Chance Drive is a residential care home in Smethwick supporting adults with a learning disability or autism, adults living with a mental health condition, people with a physical disability and people with a visual or hearing impairment, including younger adults. We also offer respite stays. The house is run so that the people living in it make the everyday decisions: what is cooked, what time the day starts, whether today is one for going out or staying in, who comes to visit and when. Staff are here to make those choices workable and to step back from what somebody can manage alone or wants to learn to manage. Communication gets careful attention. A number of the people we support get their point across in ways other than speech, and understanding somebody properly is what allows them to direct their own life rather than have it arranged around them. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us requires improvement overall. We would rather put that in front of you than leave you to discover it. We know which areas were raised, we have work under way, and we will go through the detail with any family considering a place here or already trusting us with a relative. If you are looking for a place or a respite stay in this part of the West Midlands, please get in touch and come and see the house.
