About Us

We are the CareTech home at West Park Road, a residential care home in the Sandwell area supporting adults with a learning disability or autism and adults living with a mental health condition. We also offer respite stays.

The house is run so that the people living in it make the everyday decisions: what is cooked, what time the day begins, whether today is one for going out or staying in, who visits and when. Staff are here to make those choices workable rather than to make them on anybody's behalf, and to step back from what a person can manage alone or wants to learn to manage.

Communication gets careful attention, because understanding somebody properly is the difference between them directing their own life and having it arranged around them.

Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us requires improvement overall. We would rather say that to you directly than leave you to find it. We know which areas were raised, we have work under way, and we will go through the detail with anybody considering a place here or already trusting us with a relative. Families weighing up this kind of decision deserve straight answers.

If you are looking for a place or a respite stay in this part of the West Midlands, please contact us and come and see the house.
