About Rother Valley View
Rother Valley View is a residential care home in Rotherham, on the Sheffield side of the borough. We support adults with a learning disability and autistic adults, people managing mental ill health, adults with physical disabilities and younger adults, and we offer respite stays as well as permanent places. This is a house where people live their own lives. People decide how their rooms look, take part in shopping, cooking and running the place as much as they want to and are able to, and get out to what they enjoy locally. Where somebody wants a job, a college course or a regular club, we treat that as part of the plan rather than an extra. What makes it work is detail and consistency. Knowing what a crowded room, an unannounced change or a particular noise does to a given person. Giving proper warning before anything shifts. Communicating in whatever way genuinely reaches somebody. We keep the staff team as steady as we can, because familiarity here is worth more than technique, and we train people to see the early signs of distress and prevent it rather than manage the aftermath. We work closely with families, social workers and health colleagues and expect to be challenged when we misjudge something. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. Visitors and referrers are welcome to come and see the house.
