About Us
OSJCT Spencer Court provides residential care in Woodstock for older people and younger adults, including people living with dementia and people who have sight or hearing loss. We also take planned respite stays.
We try to make this feel like a home rather than somewhere people have been placed. Residents get up when they want, spend their days as they choose, keep their own belongings about them and have visitors whenever it suits them. Our staff help with personal care, medicines, meals and the practical running of the place, and they do it in a way that leaves people as much say as possible over their own lives.
The small things are what residents notice. A familiar face on shift, tea made the way you like it, being asked rather than told, and somebody spotting that you are not quite yourself today. For residents living with dementia, and for anybody with sight or hearing loss, that familiarity matters far more than a crowded programme of organised activity.
Respite stays give family carers a genuine rest, and they let somebody find out what we are like before making a bigger decision.
Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We ask residents and relatives regularly how we are doing, and we act on the answers.
