About Us

Redbank House is a residential care home in Retford supporting adults with a learning disability and autistic adults, and people living with eating disorders. Most of the people here are younger adults, and we also offer respite stays.

Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is outstanding. We are glad of it and we hold it lightly, because a rating describes work already done by a team rather than guaranteeing anything about next week.

What the work looks like is fairly ordinary. The house belongs to the people who live in it, so the decisions that matter belong to them. What goes on the shopping list. How a bedroom looks. Whether Saturday means going out or staying in. Support is planned individually and reviewed as people change.

For autistic people, we treat the environment as part of the care rather than the background. Where food is difficult, we take our lead from the person and from the clinical team around them rather than improvising.

Respite stays give a family carer a genuine break with proper support in place. Please get in touch if you would like to visit.
