About Us
University Care 3 is a residential care home in Nottinghamshire supporting adults with a learning disability and autistic adults, people managing mental ill health and younger adults. We also offer respite stays for people who need a place for a shorter period.
This is a house where people live their own lives, not a unit where things are done to them. People choose how their rooms look, take part in shopping, cooking and running the house as much as they want to and are able to, and get out to what they genuinely enjoy. Where somebody wants a job, a course or a regular club, we build the support around making it realistic.
The difference here is made in detail. How much noise there is in a room. Whether a change of staff or plan has been flagged days ahead. Which way of communicating actually reaches a person, whether that is speech, symbols, writing or simply patience and time. Where somebody's mental health is fragile, we watch for early signs and involve their GP and the community team promptly rather than waiting for a crisis.
We keep the staff team consistent, because familiarity does more good here than any technique, and we work closely with families, social workers and health colleagues.
Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. Visitors and referrers are welcome.
