About Moriah House
Moriah House is a residential care home in Nottingham supporting older people, including those living with dementia, people managing mental health conditions and people with physical disabilities. Younger adults whose needs are best met in a residential setting are welcome too, and we offer respite stays. Our work is the ordinary business of a day done attentively. Helping somebody get up and dressed the way they prefer. Serving food worth sitting down to. Making sure there is company when it is wanted and quiet when it is not. Noticing quickly when a person is not themselves and doing something about it. For people living with dementia, familiarity carries most of the weight. Consistent faces, a predictable shape to the day, and staff who neither hurry nor correct. Where somebody lives with a mental health condition, we work alongside community teams so that a hard period is met with patience and everybody holds the same picture. Respite stays give a family carer a planned break or offer somebody support for a shorter period without a permanent move. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please come and visit on an ordinary day and see how the home really runs.
