About Mason House
Mason House is a residential care home in Nottingham supporting adults with a learning disability or autism and adults living with mental health needs, including younger adults. Some of the people we support are living with an eating disorder, and we also offer respite stays. We are a home, and people here have a real say over how they live. Rooms belong to the people in them, routines belong to the people who keep them, and support is agreed rather than imposed. Our staff work alongside people rather than taking over, which is slower and far more useful. Supporting someone with an eating disorder takes care and patience. Mealtimes here are calm and without confrontation, we work closely with specialist health teams rather than acting alone, and we talk honestly with the person about what is happening rather than managing them around it. For residents with a learning disability or autism, communication and predictability come first. We learn how each person tells us what they need, we keep routines steady and we give plenty of warning before anything changes. For those living with mental health needs, we notice early shifts and respond to them. Respite guests are fully part of the household while they are with us. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission was good. If you would like to visit, please contact us and we will arrange it.
