About Us

At Alder House, we provide residential care for adults in the heart of Nottingham, Nottinghamshire. We support a wide range of individuals, including older adults, people living with dementia, those with mental health needs, physical disabilities, and visual or hearing impairments. We also welcome younger adults and offer respite care for those who need a short term stay.

We know that choosing a care home is one of the most significant decisions a family can make, and we do not take that trust lightly. From the moment someone walks through our door, whether as a prospective resident or a family member looking for answers, we aim to make the process feel straightforward and human. We take time to understand each person properly before they move in, so that we can support them in a way that genuinely fits their life, their preferences, and their routines.

Our team works hard to create an atmosphere that feels like home rather than an institution. We encourage residents to maintain their independence wherever possible and to stay connected to the things that matter to them, whether that is a hobby, a daily routine, or simply having a familiar face to talk to.

We are proud that our most recent Care Quality Commission inspection rated us as Good. That rating reflects the consistent effort our staff put in every day, and it gives families a level of reassurance that is backed by an independent assessment rather than just our own word.

Dementia care sits at the heart of much of what we do, and we approach it with patience and attentiveness, recognising that every person's experience is different.

If you would like to find out more about life at Alder House or arrange a visit, we would be very happy to hear from you.
