About Burn Brae Lodge
Burn Brae Lodge is a residential care home in Corbridge, Northumberland. We look after older people who need help through the day, including a good number living with dementia, and we take respite bookings as well as permanent places. Corbridge is a small Tyne valley village and we are part of it rather than set apart from it. People who live here walk to the shops, go to church, and see faces they recognise. Staff tend to be local and tend to stay, which does more for the people living here than anything else we could put on a list. Relatives are usually close enough to call in without making an expedition of it. The care itself is steady rather than striking. Washing and dressing, medicines on time, meals that are hot and actually wanted, and help to move about the building and the garden safely. For residents with dementia we keep routines consistent, surroundings familiar, and nothing is moved without a reason. We learn each person's history properly, because that is where the useful detail lives. We ask families to tell us promptly when something is wrong, since small problems are far cheaper to put right early. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. You are welcome to visit without an appointment, and we would honestly rather you did.
