About Meadow Park
Meadow Park is a residential care home in Bedlington, Northumberland. We provide a home for older people and for younger adults who need support with everyday life, and caring for people living with dementia is a large part of what we do. We are not a nursing home, and it is worth being clear about that. What we offer is residential care: help with washing and dressing, medication given on time, meals cooked here, laundry done, and staff on duty through the night as well as the day. Doctors and district nurses come in when clinical care is needed. For most people that turns out to be the right level of support, because it takes away the effort and the worry without taking away the independence. Dementia care rests on consistency and on knowing the person. A familiar order to the day, the same faces turning up and surroundings that are easy to read will settle somebody more surely than any programme of activities. We take time to learn about a person's working life, family and habits, because that is what makes sense of things when words begin to fail. Beyond the help they need, residents run their own days, and visitors are welcome rather than merely tolerated. Respite and short stays are available. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Do come and see Meadow Park.
