About Maple Court
Maple Court is a residential care home in Scarborough. We look after older people who need help through the day, including many living with dementia, and some younger adults. We take respite bookings as well as permanent places. We will start with the rating, because you will find it anyway and it would be insulting to bury it. The Care Quality Commission last rated us requires improvement overall. We are not going to dispute that or dress it up. An inspection records what it finds, and putting it right is our job and nobody else's. There is an action plan, the people who commission care from us know exactly where we have got to with it, and we would much rather take you through that in person than offer a paragraph designed to reassure you. The daily work of the home carries on. Scarborough is a town most of our residents have known all their lives, which makes conversation easy. We help people wash and dress, manage medicines, eat properly and get outside when the weather off the North Sea permits it. For residents with dementia we keep routines steady and the surroundings familiar. If you are considering us for a relative, come and look. Ask the uncomfortable questions, ask where we have reached with the plan, and speak to families already here. Decide on what you find rather than on a rating alone.
