About Us

Cayton View Care Home is a residential care home in Scarborough caring for older people, including those living with dementia and those with physical disabilities. We also support younger adults and offer respite stays alongside permanent places. We try to run this as a home rather than a service. Residents get up when they are ready, eat what they want, keep their own routines and have a real say in how their support is given. Rooms belong to the people living in them, and we encourage families to bring in furniture, photographs and the things that make a space feel like somebody's own. Supporting someone with dementia takes patience and steadiness more than anything else. We keep routines familiar, surroundings easy to understand and staffing as consistent as we can manage, and we ask families to share the person's history so our team can make sense of what is being said. We respond to how someone is feeling rather than correcting the details. For residents with physical disabilities, the right equipment and sensible adaptations are what make independence possible, so we get those arranged rather than simply doing more for people. Families are welcome and we would far rather hear a concern early than have you worry quietly at home. If you are considering a move for yourself or a relative, please come and look round, meet the team and take your time.
