About Us

Here at The Manor House Knaresborough, we are a residential care home nestled in the heart of Knaresborough, North Yorkshire. We offer a genuine home from home for the people who live with us, and we take real pride in making sure that every individual feels known, valued and comfortable in their surroundings.

We support older adults across a range of needs, including residential care, dementia care, care for people with a learning disability or autism, and shorter term respite stays. Whether someone is moving in with us permanently or joining us for a period of rest and recovery, we work hard to ensure the transition feels as smooth and reassuring as possible, both for the person themselves and for their family.

Dementia care sits close to our hearts. We understand how much it matters to get the small things right, from familiar routines and meaningful activities through to the way we communicate day to day. Our team takes time to learn each person's story, their preferences, their history and what brings them comfort, because that knowledge shapes everything we do.

We are pleased to hold a "good" rating from the Care Quality Commission, which reflects the commitment of our whole team to providing care that is safe, responsive and genuinely person centred. We never treat that rating as the ceiling, and we are always looking at how we can do better.

Knaresborough is a wonderful town and we enjoy being part of this community. Families are always welcome here, and we encourage people to stay involved in the lives of their loved ones in whatever way suits them best.

If you would like to find out more or come and have a look around, we would be very happy to hear from you.
