About Us

Here at St Anne's Community on Norfolk Road, we are a residential care home nestled in the heart of Harrogate, North Yorkshire. We support adults with learning disabilities and autism, offering both long term residential care and shorter term respite stays for those who need a temporary place to call home.

We know that choosing a care home is one of the biggest decisions a family can make, and we do not take that trust lightly. Our approach centres on getting to know each person properly, understanding their routines, their likes and dislikes, and what makes them feel comfortable and settled. We believe that good support looks different for everyone, and we work hard to make sure each individual has a say in how their day looks and how they are supported.

Our team brings a real mix of experience and warmth, and there is a strong sense of continuity here. Familiar faces matter enormously to the people we support, particularly for those living with autism who often find consistency reassuring. We put a lot of thought into how we communicate and how we structure the environment, so that daily life feels predictable and calm rather than uncertain or overwhelming.

Respite care is something we approach with particular care. Whether someone is staying with us for the first time or has visited before, we want the experience to feel welcoming rather than unsettling. We liaise closely with families and existing support networks to ensure the transition in and out of our home is as smooth as possible.

We are proud to hold a good rating from the Care Quality Commission, which reflects the honest, consistent effort our team puts in every day. If you would like to find out more or arrange a visit, we would love to hear from you.
