About Us
Boroughbridge Manor and Lodge is a residential care home in Boroughbridge, North Yorkshire. We are home to older people, including many living with dementia and people with physical disabilities, and we support younger adults too. We also offer respite stays.
Good days here are not eventful. They are days when nobody was hurried, the food was decent, help came quickly, and somebody had a proper conversation with each resident.
For residents living with dementia we protect the routine and keep the surroundings familiar, and we ask families for the working life, the places and the names.
Our overall rating at the last inspection was requires improvement. We are addressing what was identified and we would rather discuss it openly than have it come as a surprise.
We keep relatives informed when health changes rather than waiting for the next visit. A short phone call is nearly always better than a surprise.
Staff are expected to speak up if they think something is wrong, including about each other. A home where nobody raises concerns is not a safe one.
Anybody considering us should come without an appointment, talk to residents and relatives away from staff, and press us for specifics about what has changed and what has not yet.
