About Blossoms

Blossoms is a residential care home in Wellingborough supporting adults with a learning disability or autism and adults living with a mental health condition, including younger adults. We offer permanent places and respite stays. We run the house as a home rather than a unit. The people living here decide the ordinary things: what is for tea, what is on the television, what time the day starts, whether today is one for going out or staying put. Staff are here to make those choices possible, not to make them on anybody's behalf. Where somebody wants to take on more for themselves, we support it at their pace. That might be cooking, shopping, managing money, travelling independently or keeping up a job, a course or a volunteering placement. Where a person mainly needs steadiness and a routine that holds, that is just as legitimate an aim and we treat it as such. Communication gets careful attention, because understanding a person properly is what allows them to be in charge of their own life rather than have it organised around them. Wellingborough is on the doorstep and people here use it, keeping up the friendships, interests and routines they had before moving in. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. If you are looking for a place or a respite stay, please get in touch and come and visit.
