About Us
Manor House is a residential home in Market Harborough for older people who need help with daily living. We support people living with dementia and people with physical disabilities, and we offer respite stays as well as permanent places.
What we offer is fairly simple and we try to do it well. Help with washing, dressing and getting about, given at the person's own pace and in a way that protects their dignity. Medication managed properly. Three meals a day that people are glad to sit down to, cooked here, with real choice at every one. Warm, clean rooms that people make their own with their own furniture and photographs. Company when it is wanted and quiet when it is not.
Where somebody has a physical disability, independence often turns on practicalities: the right equipment, a room arranged so that things are within reach, and help at the moment it is needed rather than instead of the person trying. With dementia we depend on knowing a person well, so we gather their history with their family and keep adding to it, and we keep the shape of the day predictable.
We keep an eye on health without turning the house into a clinic, act early if somebody seems unwell, and tell families what is happening rather than waiting to be asked.
We are registered with and regulated by the Care Quality Commission. Anyone thinking about a move is welcome to visit and talk to the people who live here.
