About Haydock House

Haydock House is a residential care home in Kettering, North Northamptonshire, supporting adults with a learning disability or autism and adults living with a mental health condition. Most of the people who live here are younger adults, and we also offer respite care for planned short stays. This is a home rather than a placement. People have their own room and their own things, decide how they want to spend the day, and are supported to do more for themselves over time rather than having it all done for them. Cooking a meal you chose, doing the shopping, keeping your room how you like it, managing money and appointments, getting to college or work, seeing friends and family: that is what a week is actually made of, and it is where most of our attention goes. Progress is often slow and rarely a straight line. We would far rather work patiently at somebody's pace than push them towards a timetable that suits us. Support is agreed with each person, written in a form they can understand, and reviewed honestly rather than left to drift. We adapt how we communicate to suit the individual, and we pay close attention to the environment as well, because noise, pace and routine often matter more to somebody than anything we say to them. Respite stays are arranged with the same thought as a permanent move. If you are looking into a place or a short stay in the Kettering area, please contact us and we will talk it through with you openly.
