About Beechcroft House
Beechcroft House is a residential care home in Doncaster supporting a broad range of adults. We care for older people, residents living with dementia, adults with a learning disability or autism, people managing a mental health condition, those with a physical disability, and people living with a visual or hearing impairment. We also support younger adults and offer respite stays. Supporting such a range of people means we cannot work to one formula, and we do not try. Each person has their own plan, written with them where possible, covering what they can do themselves, what they want help with and how they want that help given. Some residents are working towards greater independence. Others need a settled place where life is comfortable and familiar. Both are valid and we treat them as such. Daily life is led by residents rather than by a timetable. People choose when to get up, how to spend their time and what they eat. We adapt how we communicate to suit the individual, which matters a great deal for those with a sensory impairment or a learning disability. We work closely with GPs, community teams and specialist services, and we welcome families and advocates. We have not yet received an overall rating from the Care Quality Commission. We say that plainly and are happy to answer any question about how we work. Please contact us if you would like to visit.
