About Us
Kensington Residential Care is a care home in Immingham, North East Lincolnshire. We support older people who need help with daily living, along with younger adults, residents living with dementia, people with a physical disability and those living with a visual or hearing impairment. We also offer respite stays for shorter periods.
We support a mix of people here, so we plan around individuals rather than categories. Residents decide when they get up, how they spend their time and what they eat. Meals are cooked on the premises and preferences are remembered. There is company and activity for those who want it and no pressure on anyone who does not.
Our dementia care rests on knowing people properly. We ask families about a person's work, family, music and habits, because reassurance works far better when it is familiar, and we keep the pace unhurried. For residents with a sensory impairment we make sure conversation and information genuinely reach them, and where a physical disability is part of the picture we make sure staff are trained in the right equipment and techniques.
We work closely with local GPs, community nurses and therapists, and we keep families properly informed. Visitors are welcome at any reasonable time.
The Care Quality Commission most recently rated us good overall. Please come and look round.
