About Us
Yarborough House is a residential care home in Grimsby. We provide care for older people, including those living with dementia and those living with mental ill health, people with a physical disability, people with visual or hearing impairment and some younger adults. Respite stays are available too.
Supporting a mixed group under one roof means we cannot run the home to a single pattern, and we do not try. What we aim for is a place where people are taken as they come and where support is built around the individual. Some residents want a very structured day. Others want the opposite, plenty of freedom and somewhere steady to come back to.
Where someone has a physical disability or reduced sight or hearing, we pay attention to the practical details. Equipment that suits the person, a layout that stays predictable, and staff who adapt how they communicate.
With dementia, familiar faces and a steady rhythm do most of the work, and we treat distress as something with a cause.
Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We would rather be upfront about that than leave you to find it elsewhere. We know which areas were raised, there is work under way, and we are happy to go through any of it. Please visit and ask us directly what has changed.
