About Us

At Hawthorn Manor Residential Home, we provide caring and attentive support to older adults in the heart of Gillingham, Medway. We are proud to have received a "Good" rating from the Care Quality Commission, which reflects the genuine effort our whole team puts into making this a place where people feel safe, comfortable and truly at home.

We support residents living with a range of needs, including dementia, physical disability, and visual or hearing impairment. We also offer residential care and respite care, so whether someone is joining us for a short stay or making Hawthorn Manor their permanent home, we do our very best to ensure the transition feels straightforward and the experience feels right for them and their loved ones.

Dementia care sits at the heart of much of what we do. We understand how important it is for people living with dementia to feel calm, familiar with their surroundings, and genuinely known by the people looking after them. Our team takes time to understand each resident as an individual, learning about their history, preferences and routines so that the support we provide actually fits around them rather than the other way around.

For residents living with a physical disability or a sensory impairment, we think carefully about how we can remove barriers and make daily life as independent and enjoyable as possible. We work closely with families and healthcare professionals to make sure every resident receives the right level of support at the right time.

Respite care is something we take just as seriously as long term residential care. For families who need a short break, or for someone recovering after a period in hospital, we want that time with us to feel genuinely restorative.

We would always encourage you to come and visit us so you can see for yourself what life at Hawthorn Manor looks like.
