About Us

We at Acorn House Residential Home are proud to offer a warm, welcoming residential care home in the heart of Chatham, where older people, including those living with dementia, can feel truly at home. Nestled within the Medway community in the South East, our home has been thoughtfully designed to provide comfort, companionship and peace of mind for every resident who walks through our doors.

Our setting in the ME postcode area places us within easy reach of local amenities, green spaces and the wider Medway community, allowing families and friends to visit with ease. The familiar surroundings of Chatham help residents feel connected to the area many of them have known and loved for years, whilst the home itself offers a calm, homely environment where daily life can be enjoyed at a gentle pace.

Specialising in older person care, residential care and dementia care, we understand that each person who joins us brings a lifetime of memories, preferences and personality. Our approach is centred on knowing the individual: their routines, the music they love, the meals that bring them joy and the small comforts that make a house feel like a home. For residents living with dementia, this person centred ethos is particularly important. Our team works patiently and compassionately to create predictable, reassuring routines, offering meaningful moments of connection throughout the day. Families can take comfort in knowing their loved one is supported with dignity, kindness and genuine understanding.

For relatives, choosing a care home is one of the most significant decisions a family can make. We aim to be a true partner in that journey, keeping communication open, welcoming questions and involving loved ones in care planning wherever possible. Whether a resident is joining us for long term residential care or specialist dementia support, our focus remains the same: to nurture wellbeing, encourage independence where it can flourish, and offer the right level of support at the right time.
