About Us

Courtfield Lodge is a residential care home in Ormskirk. We look after older people who need daily care, including many people living with dementia, and we also support younger adults who need residential care.

The house runs at a human pace. People get up when they wake, eat food they recognise and enjoy, and spend their days in whatever way suits them, in company or quietly on their own. For someone living with dementia, that steadiness is a large part of the care itself, along with familiar faces and enough time in the day that nobody is hurried through anything. We would rather adapt our routine to a person than expect the person to adapt to ours, and relatives are welcome whenever they want to come.

Respite stays are part of what we offer too, giving a family carer a proper rest or supporting somebody through a period of recovery after a hospital stay.

Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission was good. We were pleased with it, though the more useful question is whether people look settled and comfortable here week after week, and that is the one we keep asking.

If you are looking for a home for yourself or someone close to you, please come and see us on an ordinary day and ask us whatever you want to know.
