About Us
Thornton Lodge Residential Care Home provides residential care in Morecambe for older people and for younger adults who need support with daily living, including people living with mental health conditions. We offer permanent places and shorter respite stays.
The help we give covers washing and dressing, medication, meals cooked here, mobility and the practical business of getting through a day when that has become difficult to manage alone. Beyond that, what people want from us varies a great deal, so we ask rather than assume. Some want a full day of company and things to do. Others want to be left in peace with the radio on. Both are reasonable and we treat them as such.
For people managing mental health conditions we have found that a calm and predictable household does more good than any particular intervention, and we build the week around that. Our staff tend to stay with us, which helps a great deal.
Morecambe and the bay are home for most of the people living here, and family and friends are welcome whenever they want to come.
Our most recent rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please ring us if you would like to arrange a visit.
