About Us

Hedges House is a residential care home in Lytham St Annes providing care for older people, including those living with dementia, people with a physical disability and people with sight or hearing loss.

We are a home rather than an institution, and we run the place accordingly. People keep their own routines as far as possible, have their own room and their own belongings, and are supported to carry on doing whatever they still manage for themselves.

Staff help with washing and dressing, with transfers and moving safely, with medication and with meals and drinks, and they do it without hurrying anybody. For those living with dementia we keep the day predictable and the surroundings familiar, adjust how we communicate rather than expecting the person to adjust to us, and treat distress as something to be understood. Where sight or hearing has declined, consistent small adjustments make a large difference, so we make sure the whole team works in the same way.

Meals are cooked here with a genuine choice. There is company for those who want it and quiet for those who do not, and visitors are welcome without ceremony.

Respite and short stays can be arranged.

If you would like to look round, please telephone us and we will arrange a time that suits you.
