About Us
Here at Olive House, we provide residential care for older people in the heart of Bacup, Lancashire. We are a care home that supports a wide range of needs, including dementia care, mental health support, care for those living with a physical disability, and respite care for those who need a short break from their usual arrangements. We also welcome younger adults who require residential support.
We know that choosing a care home is one of the most significant decisions a family can make, and we do not take that lightly. Our aim is to make sure that everyone who comes through our door feels genuinely at home, not just accommodated. We work hard to understand each person as an individual, learning what matters to them, what their routines look like, and how we can best support their wellbeing day to day.
Our team in Bacup are a familiar, consistent presence for the people we care for. Relationships built on trust and honesty sit at the centre of everything we do here. Families are always welcome to be involved, and we encourage open conversations so that everyone feels informed and included in the care of their loved one.
We were awarded a "requires improvement" rating at our most recent CQC inspection, and we want to be straightforward about that. We have taken the findings seriously and are actively working through the areas identified. We believe in being transparent with families and prospective residents rather than glossing over things, and we are committed to making the improvements needed so that the care we provide reflects the standards we hold ourselves to.
If you would like to find out more about Olive House or come and have a look around, please do get in touch. We are always happy to talk things through and answer any questions you may have.
