About Lighthouse
Lighthouse Prescot is a residential care home in Prescot supporting older people and younger adults, including people managing mental ill health and those in recovery from alcohol or drug misuse. We offer permanent places and planned respite stays. We are a house where people live rather than a clinical setting, and for many of those we support that ordinariness is exactly what is needed. After periods in hospital, in treatment or in unsettled housing, a stable home with a dependable routine does a great deal of the work on its own. Our support covers meals, medication, help keeping appointments, managing a household and rebuilding confidence in everyday situations. Just as importantly it means staff who know a person well enough to tell the difference between a difficult day and a real deterioration, and who respond proportionately to each. Recovery here is practical rather than abstract. Cooking, budgeting, getting out locally, keeping in touch with family and holding on to the things that are going well. Progress is rarely a straight line and we do not treat a setback as a failure or as grounds for giving up on someone. We have not yet received an overall rating from the Care Quality Commission for this home. Residents, families and referrers are welcome to visit and ask us directly how we work and what we could realistically support.
