About Us
St Anne's in Huddersfield is a residential care home supporting older people and younger adults living with mental ill health. We offer respite stays as well as permanent places.
Many of the people who come to us have had a hard stretch, whether through a hospital admission, a relapse or a period when living independently simply stopped working. What we try to offer is somewhere steady and unjudgemental where a person can get their feet back under them. Routine where routine helps, flexibility where it does not, and staff who understand that recovery rarely runs in a straight line and who do not treat a setback as a failure.
People here have their own rooms and a genuine say in how the day is spent. Some want company and something going on from the morning onwards, others would rather have their own space, and both are perfectly reasonable. We help with medication, with health appointments, with eating properly and with the practical business of money, paperwork and keeping in touch with family. Where somebody works with a community mental health team we work alongside them rather than around them, and we plan together, in calm periods, for the times that are harder.
Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please come and see us, meet the team and ask whatever you need to ask.
