About Langley Lodge
We are a residential care home in Huddersfield supporting adults with a learning disability or autism, people with physical disabilities, people with sight or hearing loss, and older people who need residential care. The home is run around the people who live in it. We ask how somebody wants their day to go, what they can manage themselves, where they want help and how they prefer to be communicated with, and then we make sure everybody working here knows it and follows it. Support given in a way that does not suit the person tends to do more harm than none at all. We encourage people to keep going with whatever matters to them outside these walls. Family, friends, college, work, clubs and outings. Where somebody needs help with mobility or communication to do that, our job is to provide it rather than to let it become a reason for staying in. Respite stays are available as well as permanent places, and a short stay often helps a family carer take a break with a clear mind. Our most recent Care Quality Commission inspection rated the home Good. If you are considering a place here, whether for yourself or for somebody you support, please contact us and come and have a look.
