About Us
Here at Jasna Gora Residential Care Home in Huddersfield, we provide a warm and homely environment where the people in our care genuinely feel comfortable, safe and valued. We are proud to serve our local community in Kirklees, and we work hard every day to make sure that living here feels like exactly that, living, not just being looked after.
We support older adults, younger adults and people living with dementia, and we also offer respite care for those who need a short break or some additional support during a difficult period. Whatever brings someone through our doors, we treat each person as an individual with their own story, preferences and needs. Care plans are built around the person, not the other way around.
Dementia care is something we take seriously. We understand how much it affects not just the individual but their whole family, and we aim to provide consistency, familiarity and kindness at every stage of the journey. For those coming to us for respite, we want the experience to feel as settled and reassuring as possible, even if the stay is brief.
Our most recent Care Quality Commission inspection rated us as Good, which reflects the commitment of our whole team to maintaining high standards across every aspect of daily life here. We are always looking at how we can do things better and we welcome honest feedback from residents and their families.
If you are considering Jasna Gora for yourself or someone you care about, we would genuinely encourage you to come and visit us. There is no substitute for seeing a place for yourself, having a cup of tea and getting a feel for whether it is the right fit. We would love to show you around and answer any questions you might have.

More about the care at Jasna Gora Residential Care Home
What each type of care involves, and the questions worth asking when you call or visit.
Older Person Care
Dignity in later life often comes down to practical details, such as being helped into the bath by someone unhurried and having tablets arrive at the same time each morning. Jasna Gora Residential Care Home is registered for older person care, which covers personal support, meals, mobility help and daily company. Anyone visiting should ask whether residents choose their own getting up and bedtimes, how personal preferences are recorded, and what the home does to keep people socially occupied. Overnight staffing deserves a plain question, including how many carers are on duty and what the response time to a call bell looks like. Fees across Yorkshire and Humberside commonly fall between £800 and £1050 a week, with Kirklees usually paying around £650 to £800 for placements it funds.
Dementia
Calm surroundings, a short walk to the lavatory and staff who do not argue with a mistaken belief are the backbone of decent dementia support. Confusion worsens with noise, hurry and unfamiliar faces, so continuity of staffing is more than a nicety. Dementia care is one of the categories Jasna Gora Residential Care Home is registered to provide. Ask how the team settles someone who is distressed late in the day, what happens when a resident repeatedly tries to leave, and how care is adjusted as the illness advances. Families should also ask who they speak to about changes and how often the care plan is formally revisited.
Younger Adults
Moving into a home in your forties can be isolating if everyone else is thirty years older and the activities reflect that. Younger adults are one of the groups Jasna Gora Residential Care Home is registered to support. Ask how many younger residents live there at present, what is on offer that suits them, and how much say they have over their own daily plans.
Respite Care
Planned breaks are usually taken in blocks of a week or two, and the popular months go first. Pack clothing, prescriptions and a few recognisable belongings, and send any mobility equipment along too. A trial fortnight at Jasna Gora Residential Care Home can answer questions that no brochure or tour ever will.
Residential Care
The ordinary rhythms of a household are what residential care provides, with cooked meals, help washing and dressing, laundry sorted and company on tap. Nursing homes differ in one important respect, because they have registered nurses on duty for people with continuing clinical needs. Jasna Gora Residential Care Home in Huddersfield is registered for residential care and received an overall rating of good when inspected in May 2019. Typical weekly fees in Yorkshire and Humberside run from £800 to £1050, and Kirklees generally pays rather less than that for the places it commissions. Ask which activities run each week, how menus accommodate preferences, and what the plan would be if a resident later needed nursing.
