About Us
Hampton House is a residential care home in Huddersfield. We support older people, adults with a learning disability or autism, people with physical disabilities and people whose sight or hearing is impaired, and we offer respite stays alongside permanent places.
We try to keep the feel of a household rather than an institution. People bring their own furniture and pictures if they want to, they get up and go to bed when it suits them, and there is no rule that says everybody has to do the same thing at the same time. Some of the people who live here enjoy a busy day with plenty going on and others want to be left in peace with the paper, and both are perfectly reasonable ways to live.
Our team supports people to stay as independent as they can be. That might mean help with washing and dressing done in a way that leaves somebody their dignity, support to get out into Huddersfield, adaptations and equipment that make a room workable, or making sure information is given in a form a person can actually take in when their sight or hearing makes that harder.
Families are part of this too. We keep relatives informed, we welcome visitors without fuss about timing, and we would always rather have an awkward conversation early than let a worry sit.
The Care Quality Commission rated us good at our most recent inspection. Come and look round whenever suits you.

Ask the home. The home has not told us its pet policy yet. Ask directly; some homes allow small pets in residents' rooms or welcome visiting dogs.

Will the council help pay, or is it self funded only?
Ask the home. The home has not told us which funding it accepts. Most homes take both council funded and self funded residents; ask about council rates and any top up. Use our funding calculator to check what you might pay.
