About Firs Court

We are Firs Court, a residential care home in Chessington. We support older people and younger adults, including people living with dementia, adults with a learning disability, autistic adults, people managing a mental health condition, and people with a physical disability. With that range of people under one roof, a single routine would suit nobody, so we do not run one. People get up when they are ready, eat what appeals to them and spend their days as they choose. What stays the same is that staff are always about and that they know the people here well enough to notice when somebody is quieter, more tired or less themselves than usual. For residents living with dementia, we work with their history rather than against their confusion. Knowing the work somebody did, the family they raised and the music that still reaches them is worth more than any activity timetable. Support plans are written with the person and reviewed when circumstances change. Where somebody wants to take on more for themselves, we build it up at their pace rather than deciding in advance what is realistic. We work closely with families, social workers, GPs and community mental health teams, and we offer respite stays as well as permanent places. Our most recent CQC overall rating is good. Please get in touch to arrange a look round.
