About Fairby Grange

Fairby Grange is a residential care home in Longfield. We support older people, including people living with dementia and people managing mental health conditions, and we offer respite stays as well as permanent places. A move into residential care should not mean giving up the ordinary things, so people here bring their own belongings, keep their own routines as far as they can, and decide for themselves whether to join in with what is going on. Some people want company all day and others want their own room and quiet, and we plan for both rather than assuming. Dementia care rests on knowing the person. We ask relatives to tell us about a life before it became complicated, because that is what allows us to understand somebody when words are difficult, and to work out what settles them and what does not. Where a person is anxious or low, we would rather look at what is behind it than simply manage it. We work closely with GPs, district nurses and community mental health teams in Kent, and we keep families properly involved instead of contacting them only when something has gone wrong. Our overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. If you are considering residential care or respite around Longfield, please get in touch and come and visit at an ordinary time of day.
