About Grimston House Care Home

Grimston House Care Home is in Folkestone, and we provide residential care for older people, along with respite stays for those who need a shorter period of support. We keep things fairly simple. People come to us because managing at home has become hard work, and what they want back is some ease. Meals they do not have to plan or cook. Help on hand when getting washed or dressed has become a struggle. Someone to notice if they are off colour. Company if they want it and peace if they do not. Residents here keep running their own lives as far as they are able. They decide how their rooms are arranged, what time they go to bed, whether they want to join in with what is happening downstairs. We encourage people to bring their own furniture and pictures, because a room that looks like yours feels different from a room that looks like everybody else's. Being in Folkestone means the coast is close by, and trips out are part of normal life here rather than a special occasion. Family and friends are welcome at sensible hours and are not treated as visitors to be managed. Respite care suits people recovering from illness or a spell in hospital, and gives family carers a proper rest. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. The best way to judge a care home is to turn up and look at it, so please do come and see us.
