About Camelot Lodge
At Camelot Lodge, we provide residential care for adults in the heart of Folkestone, Kent. We support people with mental health needs as well as younger adults who require a caring and structured environment to help them live as fully and independently as possible. We also offer respite care for those who need a short term stay, whether to recover after a period of illness or to give family carers a chance to rest and recharge. We are proud to have received a rating of "Good" from the Care Quality Commission, which we feel reflects the genuine effort our team puts into making sure every person who lives here feels safe, respected and heard. That rating matters to us, but what matters more is that the people in our care feel at home. Life at Camelot Lodge is built around the individual. We take time to understand each person's history, preferences and goals, and we work with them and their families to put together care that genuinely fits their life rather than asking them to fit around a routine. We know that moving into a care home, or even coming for a short stay, can feel daunting, and we do our best to make that transition as smooth and as human as possible. Our team is experienced across residential and mental health care, and we work closely with community health professionals to make sure everyone receives the right support at the right time. We believe good care is built on honest relationships, consistency and mutual respect. If you are thinking about care for yourself or for someone you love, we would welcome the chance to have a conversation. You are very welcome to come and visit us in Folkestone and see Camelot Lodge for yourself.

More about the care at Camelot Lodge
Respite Care at Camelot Lodge
Ask what a short stay includes before comparing the price of one, since laundry, activities and transport are sometimes extra. Most homes want a minimum of one or two weeks and fill the obvious weeks months ahead, so book early and pack labelled clothing with medication in its original packaging. A stay at Camelot Lodge can also act as a trial before any permanent decision.
Residential Care at Camelot Lodge
Adults who need support but not nursing are the people residential care is designed for, and the service is about daily living rather than treatment. That means meals, laundry, help with washing and dressing where it is needed, and a structure to the day, with district nurses and GPs visiting as they would any household. Camelot Lodge in Folkestone is registered for residential care, and its last published rating from the Care Quality Commission was good, following an inspection in February 2018. That report is old enough to question, so ask what has changed since and whether a newer inspection is due. Weekly fees across the South East commonly run from £1100 to £1450, while Kent pays about £800 to £950 for placements it funds.
Mental Health at Camelot Lodge
A home that specialises in mental health is a different proposition from one mainly serving frail older people, and the difference is worth exploring on a visit. Stability comes from routine, consistent staff and medication managed properly, while dignity depends on residents being consulted about their own lives. Camelot Lodge is registered for mental health support, so ask about staff training and supervision, and what happens when somebody becomes acutely unwell.
Younger Adults at Camelot Lodge
Where a home takes adults of working age, the real question is what a week actually contains. Camelot Lodge is registered for younger adults, so ask how many live there now, whether anybody works or studies, and how residents get out and about. Internet access and privacy are fair things to raise as well.
