About The Goodwins

The Goodwins is a residential care home in Deal. We support adults with a learning disability and autistic adults, and we run the house as a home rather than a unit. People living here have their own rooms, their own belongings and a genuine say in how the household works. We take time to learn how each person communicates and what matters to them, because support that is not built on that is really only supervision. From there we look at what somebody wants from their week, whether that is work, seeing family and friends, getting out locally, or simply having a place that feels properly theirs. Some people want plenty going on and others prefer a quieter household with support close at hand, and both are treated as sensible choices. We also offer respite stays, which give families a break and give the person staying a change of company with support they can trust. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission was outstanding. We are proud of that and careful about it too, because a rating like that only means something if it still describes the house in a year. So we keep checking our own work and listening to the people who live here. If you are looking for a home or a short stay for someone you care about, please get in touch and come and see us.
