About Us

We are a small residential home on Jonquil Close in Welwyn Garden City, supporting adults with learning disabilities and autistic people, including people with physical disabilities and people with loss of sight or hearing.

Because we are small, the house works as a household rather than a service. People who live here have their own rooms and their own things, and they take part in deciding how the house runs: what is cooked, when meals happen, what is bought, where everyone goes at the weekend. That may sound a modest sort of choice, but for adults who have often had little say in daily life it is the point of the place.

Our support is built around what each person wants to do. For some that means work, college or volunteering. For others it means getting out regularly, keeping up with family, managing money with help, or simply having staff who know how they communicate and what unsettles them. We keep staffing as consistent as we can, because trust and familiar routine do more good here than any written plan.

We also offer respite, which can give a family a planned break while the person stays somewhere settled.

Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. If you are looking for a place for yourself or someone in your family, please come and visit. We will be honest about whether we can support the needs you describe.
