About Us

Tremona Care Home is a residential care home in Watford providing care for older people, including many people living with dementia.

Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is outstanding. We mention it early not to boast but because it reflects the things we have concentrated on, which are unremarkable in themselves. Staff who stay, so that people are cared for by faces they know. Routines that belong to the person rather than to the home. Time built into the day for sitting and talking, not only for tasks. Families treated as part of the household rather than as visitors to be managed.

The care itself covers help with washing and dressing, medication, meals cooked here, mobility and the many small things that become hard to manage alone. For people living with dementia we keep the day predictable and the surroundings easy to understand, and we take the view that behaviour is almost always communication rather than a problem to be contained.

Respite stays are available as well as permanent places, which families often use to cover a holiday or a period of illness at home.

An outstanding rating is a standard to hold rather than a prize to display. Please ring us if you would like to come and see the home.
