About Manor View

Manor View is a residential care home in Kings Langley. We provide care for older people and also support adults with a learning disability, autistic adults, people with a physical disability and younger adults. Respite stays are available too. Having residents of different ages and needs living together works better than people often expect, provided it is thought about rather than left to chance. What makes it work is not assuming everybody wants the same things. Meals, routines, outings and how much say somebody wants over their own decisions get worked out person by person. For residents with a learning disability or who are autistic, we treat the environment itself as part of the support. Noise, lighting, how predictable the day is, and whether there is somewhere quiet to go when everything becomes too much. We also learn how each person communicates, including those who use little or no speech. Where somebody has a physical disability we think properly about equipment, access and the amount of help we offer, because being over assisted is a real loss. Respite stays are available for planned breaks and at shorter notice. Please come and visit Manor View and ask us anything.
