About Us
We are Montfort Fields, a residential care home in Kington, Herefordshire, supporting adults with a learning disability and autistic adults. This is somebody's home first and a care setting second, and we try hard to keep it that way. People here have their own rooms, their own belongings and a real say in how the day goes, from what is cooked to what happens at the weekend.
Our support is built around the individual. Some people want a full and busy week, with activities, work, college, volunteering or trips out into the surrounding countryside. Others prefer a quieter, more predictable rhythm and need that predictability protected. Both are fine. We take the time to understand how a person communicates, what helps them feel calm and what they are working towards, and we adjust our support as those things change rather than assuming this year looks like last year.
We also provide respite stays. These give families a planned break and give the person staying a proper visit rather than an emergency placement, so we prepare carefully and make sure everyone knows what to expect. Being in a small Herefordshire town means the local community is part of daily life, and we encourage people to use the shops, the groups and the places they enjoy.
Our most recent Care Quality Commission inspection rated us good overall. Families are welcome to visit, and we would encourage anyone considering Montfort Fields to come and see the place for themselves.
