About Us

Speedwell Court is a residential care home in Southampton, providing a home and short stays for adults who need support with daily living.

The people who live here have a wide range of needs. Some are older adults who need help with personal care, mobility and medication. Many are living with dementia, and for them we keep the day calm and familiar, give people time and take the trouble to learn about their lives so that staff can be genuine company rather than simply efficient. We also support people living with a physical disability and people with a visual or hearing impairment, and we support younger adults as well as older residents. How we communicate and how the building is used are adapted so that everybody can take part in what is going on.

Respite stays are available, giving family carers a planned break while their relative stays somewhere welcoming and well staffed.

Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is outstanding. We are genuinely proud of that. What pleases us most is that it reflects the ordinary daily experience of the people who live here rather than anything arranged for the occasion, and we know it is something we have to keep earning.

If you would like to see Speedwell Court, please ring and arrange a visit. Come and look round properly, talk to the staff and to the people living here, and ask us whatever you want to ask.
