About Us
The Avenue Care Home provides residential care in Fareham for older people and younger adults, including people living with dementia and people with mental health needs. We also take planned respite stays.
Our aim is straightforward. People who live here should be able to carry on being themselves, with the help they need arranged quietly around them. That means choosing when to get up, what to wear, where to sit and who to spend time with, and having staff who know those preferences well enough not to have to ask twice. Practically, we help with personal care, medicines, meals, and everything involved in running the place.
For residents living with dementia, we keep the day familiar and the pace gentle. Rushing somebody creates distress that then takes far longer to settle than the time saved. For residents with mental health needs, consistency and a lack of fuss matter, along with staff who notice early when somebody is less well than they were.
Respite stays are worth mentioning in their own right. They give family carers a genuine break, and they let people see what we are like before making a longer decision.
Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. What matters more day to day is what residents and relatives tell us, so we ask them.
