About Us
We are a small residential home on Victoria Street in Cinderford, supporting adults with a learning disability and autistic adults. Being small is the point rather than an accident. It means the people who live here are known properly, not just recorded, and it means the house can be run around them.
We take the view that this is somebody's home and everything follows from that. People choose their own routines, help with cooking and shopping, keep their rooms how they like them and decide what happens with their own time. Where someone wants to work, study, get out to the Forest of Dean or simply go into town regularly, we support it. Where someone needs the week to be predictable and needs plenty of warning before anything changes, we build that in.
Communication is something we work at, because not everyone tells us what they want in the same way. We learn how each person expresses themselves and we make decisions with them rather than about them. Families and advocates are welcome and stay involved for as long as the person wants them to.
We also offer respite stays, which can give a family a planned break and give someone a chance to get to know us gradually.
Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please contact us if you would like to visit.
