About Us
Dudbrook House is a residential care home in Brentwood, Essex, for older people, including those living with dementia, and we also support some younger adults whose needs are suited to a home like ours. We are not a nursing home, so our strength is in personal care, good daily routines and knowing the people who live here well.
We help with washing and dressing, medication, meals and the parts of the day that have become difficult, and we do it in a way that leaves people as much control as possible. Residents choose when they get up, where they sit, what they watch and whether they want to join in with what is going on.
For residents living with dementia we keep the home familiar and the staff consistent, and we take the time to work out what is behind a change in mood rather than treating it as a symptom to be managed. Families know their relative best, and what they tell us shapes the plan.
Respite stays are available, whether that is a break for a family carer, a chance to get strength back after illness, or a way of seeing whether this kind of home suits somebody before any permanent decision is made.
You are welcome to visit, look round properly and talk to the staff and residents. Ask us anything you like. Please ring to arrange a convenient time.
