About Fairview

Fairview is a residential care home in Enfield supporting adults with a learning disability or autism, including younger adults, and offering respite stays for families who need a break. This is people's home, and we try to run it that way. Everyone here has their own room and their own things in it, and there is no reason why the shape of somebody's week should be decided by a rota. People choose what they eat, when they go out, how they spend their money and who they spend time with, and where a choice is genuinely difficult we support the person to make it rather than making it for them. Our team is trained to work with people who communicate in different ways, and a good deal of our effort goes into understanding somebody properly before assuming what they want. We support people to keep up the things that give life its shape, whether that is work, college, a sports club, a faith community or regular time with family. Where somebody has come to us after things went badly elsewhere, we move at their pace and we do not rush the settling in. Respite is arranged with the same care. A short stay should feel like a welcome, not a waiting room, and we plan it properly with the person and their family beforehand. The Care Quality Commission rated us good at our most recent inspection. Anyone thinking about a place here is welcome to visit as often as they need to.
